Program Services of Organization or Financial Literacy Department:
The Take Charge America Institute at the University of Arizona creates research-based programs that include university courses and workshops for high school and college students. We work with scholars from a variety of academic disciplines at the University of Arizona and other research universities to shape and strengthen our offerings.
Family Economics and Financial Education (FEFE) is a personal finance curriculum taught to more than 500,000 high school students annually. More than 20,000 teachers are using the curriculum, classroom lesson plans and related materials, provided free of charge by the Institute.
The Credit-Wise Cats team of college students has conducted financial education workshops for more than 8,000 students on the University of Arizona campus, as well as Tucson-area high schools and middle schools.
The Office of Economic Education at the University of Arizona develops and provides field-tested classroom material to create research-based educational outreach programs. Students develop economic ways of thinking and problem solving that they can use in their lives as knowledgeable consumers, savers and investors, productive members of the workforce, responsible citizens, and informed participants in a global economy.
