WHAT WE DO:
The Actuarial Foundation is a nonprofit organization with a vision of an educated public in pursuit of a secure financial future. To achieve this vision, the foundation develops and distributes a financial literacy curriculum resource for teachers and their students and provides a library of consumer financial education resources for the public.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Financial Literacy Curriculum Resource for High Schools and Community Colleges
Building Your Future helps students master the knowledge they need to live financially healthy lives. Using the valuable lessons in this three-book curriculum resource, students practice core skills and learn the real-world impact of the financial decisions they make.
Building Your Future covers topics such as checking and savings accounts, credit cards, home and auto loans, stocks, bonds and taxes. Each book is complemented by a Teacher’s Guide that provides handouts and answer keys, instruction and assessment suggestions, definitions, and resources that align with national mathematics and personal financial education standards.
Since unveiling the program in 2009, the Foundation has delivered Building Your Future materials to more than 5,000 high school teachers nationwide!
Building Your Future has been such a success with high schools that the foundation is now making the materials available to community colleges!
Community college teachers who want to receive a free individual set of Building Your Future materials can email their name, school name and full mailing address to Turn on JavaScript!. Supplies are limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis and are also available online at:

Consumer Financial Education Resources
The foundation provides a library of consumer financial education resources that have been accessed by millions of Americans. Most recently, the foundation launched Financial Smarts, a free newsletter that spotlights important consumer finance topics and directs readers to full resources available from the foundation.
Many like-minded organizations and public libraries currently make Financial Smarts available to their constituents and patrons, and we invite you to do the same. Subscribe to Financial Smarts today! Online at: www.actuarialfoundation.org/programs/consumer_education.shtm .
WHAT WE NEED:
We seek strategic partners to help us reach even more teachers with Building Your Future materials and expand our distribution of Financial Smarts to the general public. We also seek nonprofit organizations that would like to collaborate on the development and distribution of new consumer financial education resources.
