The Virginia Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy (Virginia Jump$tart) works to improve the financial literacy of Virginians. The goals of the Virginia JumpStart Coalition are to collaborate, educate and advocate to promote financial literacy for Virginians.
Attract and bring together financial literacy practitioners that enable Jump$tart to cultivate informative relationships and build a foundation for advocacy.
Be a resource for financial literacy information for state legislature, member organizations, financial literacy providers and Virginia educators.
Build awareness among government officials, educators and the general public of the need for financial literacy.
Our Spring meeting will be held at the Credit Union House of Virginia on Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 4-6 p.m. Rick Pillow, President of Virginia Credit Union League will open our meeting with a greeting. Cherry Dale, Chair of Virginia Jump$tart Coalition, will be giving an update from the National Jump$tart meeting to be held the beginning of April. Participants will also be introduced to a new interactive credit game called "SCORE!™". "SCORE™!" was created by the Credit Union Cares Foundation to help people understand the impact of behavior on credit scores.
We will have a networking time that will allow participants to find out what local organizations are doing to promote financial education in the Commonwealth of Virginia. We would love for YOU to share as well!
