(August, ME) The Governor's proclamation notes the conference and how it has enabled more than 250 Maine teachers and community educators during the past two years to offer financial literacy instruction and materials to students in every part of the state.
(Augusta, ME) - Registration for the 3rd Annual Fostering Financial Literacy In Maine Schools Conference is underway. This year’s Conference, presented and coordinated by the Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy and the State of Maine Office of Securities, will be held on Thursday, April 26, from 8:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., at the Augusta Civic Center in Augusta. Developed for educators, administrators and counselors, registration for the Conference is only $25 per person.
(Portland, ME) - The Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is pleased to encouraging Maine educators who work with high school aged students (ages 13-19) to register and have their students participate in the National Financial Capability Challenge. The Challenge is open from March 12 – April 13, 2012. Nationwide, over 84,000 students took the Financial Capability Challenge in 2011.
(Portland, ME) – The Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy recognized the achievement of a team of high school students from independent Waynflete School of Portland on becoming the first team from Maine to win the prestigious Reserve Cup Challenge held by the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston.
(Portland) - The Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy announced recently that they are sending letters to Maine college presidents requesting that they voluntarily support a ban on credit card solicitation on campus.
The Maine Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy, a nonprofit organization and state affiliate of the National Jump$tart Coalition in Washington, DC released the results of a survey sent to 220 School Administration Unit principals in Maine.
