Based in Washington, D.C., the National Council of Higher Education Resources (NCHER) represents a nationwide network of organizations, including state and not-for-profit guaranty agencies, secondary markets, lenders and schools that provide debt management, college access, financial literacy and other services to students and the schools they attend. Additional member organizations include student loan servicers, collection agencies and others whose services focus on working with student loan recipients. NCHER members promote student access and choice for postsecondary education and training and provide a range of services and materials to help students gain access to college, manage their finances and successfully repay student loans.
NCHER provides a daily newsletter that covers legislative and regulatory updates and college access, financial literacy and student loan developments. NCHER has several committees that work to improve the operation and policies of student loans and borrower services and hosts training conferences throughout the year.
