WHAT WE DO:
Moonjar creates award-winning tools to reach out to children and families, teaching SAVE, SPEND and SHARE as the foundation of financial capability. Since 2002, we have worked with financial institutions, not-for-profits, schools, and parents to bring the message of financial literacy to the young children. Our core product—the Moonjar Moneybox—is made from recycled paper and is available to carry the messaging and language of any organization through full customization options. We support our books, banks, and games with award- winning curriculum all based on the concepts of Save, Spend and Share. Visit www.moonjar.com for more information.
WHAT WE OFFER:
We offer the guidance of a committed team that is passionate about teaching kids and families about money. Our products include a great ABC Book about building a business aimed at young entrepreneurs. The book is also available as a CD. We have non-competitive games called “Conversations to Go”—these are available in three styles and all offer the opportunity to create amazing conversations about money and other topics with multi-generational groups. You never know what they might say…until you ask! Our Moonjar Moneyboxes are teaching banks divided into Save, Spend and Share. They are 100 percent customizable, including a family guide and passbook making them a perfect tool for credit unions and banks! We’ve also developed award-winning curriculum to support the concepts our products offer. Our own “Share box” is filled with an organization called MIM out of Mongolia. They create felt characters for us—we are proud to be working with them and helping them to sustain their villages with native crafts.
WHAT WE NEED:
Collaboration! Let’s find ways to work together to create new paths into schools and corporations. We are looking to bring the Moonjar tools into communities in a bigger way. Please contact us with any ideas you might have.
WHAT’S NEW:
Our work with DECA students at Auburn High School in Washington has sparked a small movement. The DECA kids are amazing—they are taking financial literacy to elementary schools in droves! The Moonjar Classroom Kit allows high school students to be “rock-star” teachers as they teach core financial capability to 2nd and 3rd graders.
We have developed a strong relationship with a Canadian Distributor that is working hard to bring Financial Literacy to Canada. (www.moonjar.ca)
