The Jump$tart Coalition for Personal Financial Literacy is a 501-c-3 tax-exempt non-profit organization based in Washington, DC.  As a coalition, it is an organization of organizations that share a commitment to advancing financial literacy among pre-school through college-age youth and working collaboratively toward effective financial education.  The coalition consists of a network of 51 affiliated state coalitions and their local partners and about 150 national partner organizations from the business, financial, non-profit, association, academic, government, and other sectors.

I teach business education subjects and had the opportunity to attend the 2014 Jump$tart National Educator Conference in Los Angeles through the scholarship program. This conference provided me with valuable tools, programs, curriculum and contacts used to teach Financial Literacy in the classroom. The keynote speakers and break-outs sessions were very motivating and rewarding. As a result of attending this conference I was able to create a large resource network with peers and professionals in the field of financial literacy. This was a great opportunity, a learning experience and a worth- while endeavor.
