Investment Company Institute (ICI) Education Foundation (ICIEF)

ICIEF is the Education Foundation of the Investment Company Institute, the national association of mutual funds and other investment companies. Since 1989, ICIEF has partnered with schools, nonprofits, and government agencies to sponsor, develop, and deliver investment education programs to underserved Americans. ICIEF also participates in  financial education advocacy coalitions, conferences, and initiatives that promote saving and investing education nationwide, including the American Savings Education Council, Alliance for Investor Education, Jump$tart Coalition, and Greater Washington Jump$tart.

Currently, ICIEF offers microgrants—up to $25,000 each—to schools and other not-for-profit organizations to start or strengthen investor education in existing financial education courses, programs, or activities within the greater metropolitan Washington, DC area. (The grantee may be located outside the Washington, DC region provided the investor education takes place within the region.)

We are looking for best practices in investor education—innovative, hands-on efforts that not only build knowledge, but change attitudes, create confidence, or influence behavior as well. We accept grant applications continuously and review them quarterly.

In addition, ICIEF sponsors a financial awards program, working with the U.S. Departments of Education and Treasury, to encourage participation by Washington, DC high schools and high school students in the National Financial Capability Challenge.
