InCharge

WHAT WE DO:

InCharge® Education Foundation is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering lives through personal finance education. InCharge delivers high quality personal finance education through workshops, online courses, books, magazines and websites. InCharge recognizes that there is no “one size fits all” personal finance education, and therefore seeks to customize materials and instruction based on the populations served. Dedicated to helping those in greatest need, InCharge works with Habitat for Humanity, Head Start and Goodwill, among others, to deliver educational materials and services.

WHAT WE OFFER:

Learn Money
InCharge provides a series of free financial literacy workshops to 8th graders in low-income Central Florida middle schools. Currently serving five area schools, Learn Money workshops focus on pre-college financial planning topics, including: your first job, your first bank account, choosing an affordable college and saving for college.

Teach Money Workshops
Funded by Chase, InCharge’s Teach Money program provides professional development to future K-12 teachers, enrolled in college of education programs. Teach Money workshops provide future teachers with knowledge and tools for use in their own lives and for application in their classrooms. Topics covered include: money through the eyes of a child, living on a teacher’s salary, budgeting, student loans for ROI, and credit and debt. In the past year, Teach Money workshops have been provided to more than 120 future educators.

WHAT WE NEED:

InCharge is seeking funders to sponsor its middle school program, Learn Money. All student participants are part of the national AVID® program, designed to identify and enrich children in economically challenged schools who have been identified as having the ability to go to and succeed in college.  This series of hands-on financial literacy workshops puts financial planning tools in the hands of the children who need them most.

WHAT’S NEW:
