FINRA, the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, is an independent, not-for-profit organization with a public mission: to protect America’s investors by making sure the securities industry operates fairly and honestly. We do that by writing and enforcing rules governing the activities of all securities firms doing business in the United States. FINRA operates under the oversight of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

FINRA believes education is often the best form of investor protection. To this end, we offer a range of tools and programs to help people better understand investing and protect themselves along the way. These resources — including Investor Articles, online tools and calculators, and micro-courses on investing basics — are available at www.finra.org/investors.

We also manage and implement programs of the FINRA Investor Education Foundation. The mission of the FINRA Foundation is to empower underserved Americans with the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary for financial success throughout life. Through a combination of research and educational programming, the FINRA Foundation helps Americans build financial stability, invest for life goals, and guard against fraud and financial exploitation.
