EFC

WHAT WE DO:
Education Finance Council (EFC) is the trade association representing nonprofit and state agency student loan organizations. These organizations are public purpose entities, some founded more than 40 years ago, with the mission of increasing postsecondary access, affordability, and success. EFC members operate as student loan issuers, servicers, and providers of college access and success and financial literacy programs.

WHAT WE OFFER:
EFC members provide an array of financial literacy programs and resources at no cost to students, families, schools, and educators in their states and have a long history of preventing student loan over-borrowing and default.

Financial literacy, debt counseling, and default prevention services range from one-on-one appointments with students; proactive, continuous student outreach; interactive web-based portals; financial aid presentations and workshops for students, families, educators, and policymakers; early awareness financial education curriculum; training for counselors, teachers, and policymakers; financial education literature; college centers; and collaboration with college financial aid officers.

WHAT WE NEED:
EFC strives to increase awareness of its members’ financial literacy programs and the valuable role nonprofit and state agency student loan organizations play in national goals of improving financial capability. To expand our reach, we are seeking to increase our strategic partnerships with other industry and like-minded organizations to collaborate on financial literacy issues, research, and advocacy efforts.
