Business Professionals of America
WHAT WE DO:
Business Professionals of America (BPA) is the leading CTSO (Career Technical Student Organization) for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.
The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills. Through hands-on and objective competitions, as well as leadership and service programs, we help the student members of our more than 4,000 local chapters to develop their career potential.
WHAT WE OFFER:
- In BPAs Workplace Skills Assessment Program, students prepare for and compete in contests in over 50 categories, under the four broad topics of Finance, Information Technology, Administrative Support, and Management/Marketing/Human Resources.
- Students begin by competing at the local/regional level. The top qualifiers compete at a State conference, and finally, the National Leadership Conference held in the Spring of each year. Competitions range from individual to team, from objective tests to judged presentations.
- BPA members have an opportunity to develop leadership skills through many programs including the National Leadership Academy, the National Leadership Conference Intern program, and local, regional, state and national officer elections.
- BPA encourages and recognizes members' community service and volunteer work through the Torch Awards program and the Special Recognition Awards program.
WHAT WE NEED:
- Immediate needs include judges and volunteers for our National Leadership Conference being held in Washington D.C. on May 4 – 7, 2011,
- Corporate partners who share our vision and passion for developing the next generation of business professionals.
- Long-term partners to work with us in support of the financial, business, and technology education of our students.
