2010 Youth Financial Educators' Summit

“Preparing Louisiana Students for Real Life”

The Summit was a huge success!

Thanks to our sponsors, keynote speakers, presenters, exhibitors and partners.

And thanks to the 170 educators, teachers and school faculty from around the state who attended our two-day Summit at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Baton Rouge on September 27-28, 2010.

Comments from several of the educators:

D. Wilburn, Business Education Teacher at Woodlawn High School in Baton Rouge said "As a teacher in the Business Education Department, I found the summit to be a 'wealth' of information that will give my students real world application opportunities. For example, I have four teams competing in the Stock Market game in my Accounting 1 class, and I am in the process of enrolling all of my IBCA students in the MoneySkill program."

H. Cosby, Business Teacher at Woodlawn High School in Shreveport said "I had a wonderful time and enjoyed/learned a great deal. I've passed some information on to CORE teachers and will suggest to my principal to have a larger representation next year."

J. Hidalgo, Program Consultant, Department of Education said "Great, informative conference! Received much wonderful information which I have passed on to teacher friends in schools! Please put me on your mailing list for future conferences."

J. Stewart, CTE Internship Coordinator at McKinley High School in Baton Rouge said "The quality of the Jump$tart Summit was wonderful! Breakout sessions were great, outstanding presenters and quality educational resources for the classroom."
