Certified Personal and Family Finance Educator Qualifying Exam

Friday, November 6  12:30-3:30 p.m.

Jump$tart National Partner, the American Association for Family and Consumer Sciences, will once again offer certification testing for its Certified Personal and Family Finance Educator credential in conjunction with our conference. Open to educators regardless of baccalaureate major, interested participants must register and pay for this exam separately. Please click here to learn more about this certification and register directly with AAFCS.

The three-hour test will be offered at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, November 6, prior to the start of the Jump$tart National Educator Conference. Teachers interested in taking the certification test should indicate their interest when completing the conference registration. AAFCS will then contact you, directly. Note that a separate fee, paid to AAFCS, will be required. Please direct questions about this certification to the AAFCS


W!SE Certification in Personal Finance (CPF) Test for Teachers

Friday, November 6  12:30-3:30 p.m.

Another Jump$tart Partner, Working in Support of Education (W!SE), will also offer teachers the unique opportunity to earn a Certification in Personal Finance by taking and passing the W!SE CPF Test. The Certification in Personal Finance supports teacher capacity building and demonstrates a strong knowledge of personal finance.

To take the certification test, simply indicate your interest when you register for the Jump$tart National Educator Conference. A representative from W!SE will contact you (separate registration and fee, required) and will send yor the W!SE CPF Study Manual, which includes the topics teachers need to review in order to prepare for the Test. Preparation for the Certification Test is self-guided.  Cost is $50.00.  All teachers who take the W!SE CPF Test at the Jump$tart NEC will be entered into a raffle for a FREE Kindle Fire!!

Individual Financial Planning Sessions  Pre-Conference

Friday, November 6  12:30-4:00 p.m.

(Counseling Sessions with Accredited Financial Counselors also available on Sunday, November 10 - 12:00 – 2:30 p.m.)

 

Thanks to Jump$tart Partner, the Certified Financial Board of Standards, Inc., we are once again offering you personalized financial planning sessions, tailored to your own situations, from highly-qualified Certified Financial Planners (CFP).

The Financial Planning Clinic is an optional opportunity for you to pose your specific financial questions to certified financial planners, who are volunteering their time and expertise to provide you with unbiased financial planning information. These private consultations are provided at absolutely no cost to you. Further, the volunteer CFP professionals are not allowed to sell products or services or solicit further business from you in any way. In other words, there are no strings attached!

If your spouse or domestic partner is you, he/she may participate in the consultation, even if not registered to attend the rest of the conference.

Only Two Steps to Participate

  1. Just indicate your interest in attending the Clinic when you complete your conference registration. We will arrange a 20-minute appointment for you to meet privately with a CFP professional within the scheduled time period.
  2. Make a list of questions you want answered. Learn more about financial planning topics and the questions you can address with financial planners here. Teacher Feedback Session

Friday, November 6 – 2:30-4:00 p.m.

How does Jump$tart learn what teachers really want and need?  From you!  Teachers who arrive early on Friday are invited to join us for an optional session on the state of professional development for teachers across the country, before the conference begins. There is no cost or other requirements to participate, but you must register when you register for the conference.

The Financial Counseling Clinic is an optional opportunity for you to pose your specific financial questions to highly qualified Accredited Financial Counselors (AFC®), who are volunteering their time and expertise to provide you with unbiased financial planning information.  

Thanks to Jump$tart Partner, the Association for Financial Counseling and Financial Planning Education, these private consultations are provided at absolutely no cost to you. Further, the volunteer AFC professionals are not allowed to sell products or services or solicit further business from you in any way. In other words, there are no strings attached! Your spouse or domestic partner may participate in the consultation, even if not registered to attend the rest of the conference.
