Money Management Financial Education Foundation

WHAT WE DO:

The MMI Financial Education Foundation partners with national organizations that develop, deliver, and support programs that educate the general public on sound personal financial skills and money management principles. It also sponsors research into personal financial issues of national importance.

WHAT WE OFFER:

The foundation offers the opportunity to partner the powerful Dummies brand with your organization to produce 'For Dummies' co-branded mini books on credit and debt topics. The booklets can be as small as eight pages and customized to include only specific topical information of interest tailored to your customers. Costs are minimal and can be less than that of a tee-shirt.

Credit Repair Kit For Dummies

"All the warnings in previous editions of this helpful book have become today's reality. The credit crisis is upon us - making this updated version of Credit Repair Kit For Dummies more useful and necessary than ever before."

Excerpt from the Forward by Terry Savage, nationally syndicated columnist for the Chicago Sun-Times and author of The Savage Truth on Money and The Savage Number: How Much Money Do You Need to Retire?

The second edition of this timely book provides straightforward guidance and the proper tools to navigate today's new and unforgiving credit environment. The book provides solutions for many of the troubling financial issues that are now facing consumers, including:

  • Foreclosure: Saving a home from foreclosure requires quick and effective action. Author Steve Bucci provides readers with the tools to communicate with lenders and seek the help and solutions that are available from the marketplace.
  • Credit Crunch: Good credit is more important than ever in a tightening credit cycle where credit is more difficult to obtain even with a great credit history. The book provides information for shaping up your credit report so you are putting your best credit out front for lenders to see.
  • Bankruptcy: The book outlines the 2005 bankruptcy law and how it pertains to those seeking bankruptcy relief. Detailed descriptions are included to help the reader decide if bankruptcy is the right solution for his or her own financial situation.
  • Counseling Choices: Many people need help with their finances, but are unsure who to trust. Credit Repair Kit for Dummies, 2nd Edition includes information on what questions to ask, learning about not-for-profit status, third-party accreditation and fees to assure that you choose wisely when seeking help.

"Credit Repair Kit For Dummies, 2nd Edition, recognizes that now you need more than a basic understanding of how credit works, you also need to know how to deal with creditors, how to stave off a foreclosure, how to make decisions about bankruptcy under the new laws, and how to avoid the tempting but fraudulent offers to fix your credit problems."

Steve Bucci, author of Credit Repair Kit for Dummies, 2nd Edition, is the President of Money Management International Financial Education Foundation and writes the weekly Debt Adviser column for Bankrate.com. All proceeds from the sale of the book go to the MMI Foundation.

WHAT WE NEED:

The MMI Financial Education Foundation has two main needs:

  1. It needs help getting the valuable information in this book out to the public. There is an opportunity to co-brand your organization name with the powerful Dummies brand through mini books relating particular information from the book.
  2. The foundation is seeking partnership opportunities with like-minded organizations.
