WHAT WE DO:
When consumers have debt problems, Consolidated Credit Counseling Services is there to offer financial solutions. Consolidated Credit (http://www.consolidatedcredit.org/) is dedicated to helping consumers gain the necessary skills to manage their credit and money effectively. Through financial education programs and services, its mission is to help families end financial crisis and create a stable financial future.
WHAT WE OFFER:
Consolidated Credit partners with businesses and organizations to bring "Financial Responsibility in the Workplace" programs to the community. Staff provides financial education to individuals who might not have access to this much-needed information, and it educates employers about the value of having budget conscious and financially savvy employees. The organization's outreach managers provide free seminars, financial literature libraries and Web-based financial tools for employees and their families. To date, the group has worked with hundreds of organizations and have created more than 300 financial libraries nationwide. Consolidated Credit works with the Miami-Dade Affordable Housing to help first-time home buyers with the financial aspects of purchasing a new home.
Consolidated Credit created and participated in joint education programs with CautionwithCredit.org. Its contributions to the endeavor include a video presentation, the "dos and don'ts" of credit and the 10 steps to good credit. Currently, more than 200 colleges and universities are using the site and materials to educate their students on credit issues.
WHAT WE NEED:
In 2009, Consolidated Credit is seeking partners to assist in the development of an educational Webinar series to address consumers' economic concerns and provide financial strategies to survive the recession.
In 2008, Consolidated Credit expanded its housing counseling to include foreclosure prevention. This new in-house division assists financial institutions with identifying homeowners at risk and providing housing and budget counseling and personal financial education.
Consolidated Credit is committed to assisting 211 Broward with community outreach and fundraising efforts. 211 Broward is a 24-hour, free, confidential telephone helpline for crisis/suicide counseling, empathetic listening, and community information and referrals for health and human services resources in Broward County.
